Review by hotel critic
At Maleme Mare, a culinary haven nestled on the picturesque shores of Maleme, I embarked on a gourmet getaway that truly celebrated local flavors. The semi-alfresco onsite restaurant provided a laid-back atmosphere perfect for savoring the innovative dishes inspired by the region's bountiful produce. One standout for me was their delicious homemade olive oil – a nod to its heart-healthy properties that made every meal feel both indulgent and nourishing. The menu featured an array of options, yet I noticed some repetition, particularly in the lunch and dinner offerings. Nonetheless, it provided ample choices, ranging from hearty salads to comforting pasta dishes. Evening drinks were a highlight; I enjoyed refreshing cocktails at the poolside bar that perfectly complemented my meals. While the tranquil location meant limited nearby dining options, I appreciated the supplementary local tavernas, promoting the spirit of community and fresh fare. This experience made me yearn for a return, as the art of culinary innovation complemented the serene surroundings superbly.
